Mechanism of protein translocation across the endoplasmic reticulum membrane.

In this review we attempt a timely survey of issues concerning protein translocation across the membrane of the endoplasmic reticulum of eukaryotic cells. We focus on recent developments, open questions and current controversies. Due to limited space, this review cannot be and is not intended to be comprehensive. Where appropriate, reference to more detailed reviews is given in the text.
